
Ali Jawad is a British Paralympic powerlifter competing in the −59 kg class.
Great Britain’s Ali Jawad is determined to show the world that anything is possible. The road for the Lebanon-born lifter has been paved with challenges, but he has always overcome them. Born without legs, he took up powerlifting at the age of 16. He competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, finishing fourth. The following year he won the gold medal at the Asian Open Championships making a world record lift of 185.5 kg. He is a true inspiration for many, paving the path for disabled people in the Sports world.
